My birthday was very special!!!

My birthday started out this year with my best friend Kimmy taking me and LeeAnn to Holiday Inn where they have an indoor water park. We had such a great time! I appreciate so much everything Kimmy did for me for my birthday! She is a great friend!!!

For my actual birthday we had planned to go to the park. Unfortunately, when I woke up yesterday, it was raining. So, we decided to just go to Mom and Dad's and enjoy the day. We had an indoor picnic. The rain stopped so Dad could do the grilling. We had a great time. John and Jean came to join us as well.

During the course of our lunch we heard mom and dad's pet squirrel that was trapped in the wall. The day before mom was in the sewing room sewing and she kept hearing about a dozen squirrels on the roof running around like crazy. And it was pouring down rain. Eventually, she thought it sounded like they were in the wall. And she was right. Most of them went away and there were no signs of squirrels anywhere. Except for the one trapped in the wall. We are not sure how it got in but we are thinking through the attic somewhere. And there is a small opening between the walls that he fell down. He sounded so pitiful almost crying to get out! So, our carpenter John said he could cut a hole in the wall if we had a cage or something to trap him in. So, I went to Kim's and borrowed her dog's cage. Eddie came home and decided to go up to the attic to see if he could figure out exactly where in the wall they were. We then discovered there were like three of them and they looked like they were close to death. It was really very sad but we decided that it would be hard to trap three of them and we didn't want to have to pull them out if they were dead. So, our adventure ended with no real conclusion. They are going to call Pest control and try to get them removed from the wall. It was a very interesting day to say the least. LeeAnn was oblivious to the whole thing as she sat on the computer playing webkinz most of the day. :)

I got lots of nice things for my birthday and I am glad that we got to spend some time together with family and visit. We all went to the fireworks together too and this year Hoosier Park set them off and they were awesome! Who knew we would need jackets and blankets to watch the fireworks in July? That didn't stop Eddie and LeeAnn from getting ice cream from the ice cream man. And Grandpa and Paw-Paw made a trip to Ritters for ice cream as well.
